The Why

When Nate disappeared, I became frantic and desperately searched everywhere. Soon, I requested the help of the amazing Chatham Police Department. From there, the search became a viral, massive, and intense three-day manhunt for Nate. As news of his disappearance spread, the Sangamon County Sheriff's Department joined in, followed by the Illinois State Police. Multiple volunteers, citizens, neighbors, family, and strangers from Missouri to Indiana joined us. His Missing Person's Report went statewide, and then nationwide. People from all over the country reached out to us with tips and possible sightings. His Missing Person's Report went viral with tens of thousands of shares. We had squadrons of people hiking, hundreds of Police Officers patrolling, boats searching the lake with spotters and dive teams, professional youtubers, public and private Search and Rescue units, teams of people on horseback, mountain bikers ripping through the woods, multiple ATV's, drones with thermal imaging scanned the forest day and night, the state police even commissioned their Search and Rescue Airplane!, and of course, there was one determined father. Our family looks at all these people like wonderful angels who showed up and helped us in our time of need. Obviously, we can never repay what everyone did for us, but we can be there for them in their times of need. We are pursuing the official SARTECH Search and Rescue training and certification so that we can be there for others the way others were there for us. Say Hello to the Nate's Glow Volunteer Search and Rescue Division! Obviously, as a volunteer force, we cannot guarantee we can find everyone. We can only guarantee we will try. Our SAR dept. will assist when we are requested to deploy by local law enforcement (with signed MOU), SARTECH Mission Commanders, or other governmental agencies. At all times Nate's Glow SAR will submit to the authority of the agency overseeing the operation. If a friend or family member of the missing person requests our help, we will be limited to patrol operations until an official Missing Person's Report is filed with Law Enforcement and our assistance is requested by them. Once the MPR is filed we can go beyond patrolling, we can get our boots on the ground. We are currently adding funds from Book Sale royalties, EAP's, and our coaching services to purchase and outfit the Nate's Glow Volunteer Search and Rescue Vehicle. If you would like to help us get there, we could really use some angel donations from people like you. The final cost of the Search and Rescue Vehicle will depend a lot on the amount of donations received. Early estimates are $20,000 to $50,000. We know it is a lot of money but if we can help find someone, it is more than worth it. We are currently doing a donation drive to purchase the vehicle and required equipment. If someone goes missing around here, we are on our way to help. Help us help them by taking part in our SAR Vehicle donation drive. Donate below.
